Here are 5 watercolor techniques to level up your painting

Good Quality Paper

Good quality paper will quickly & well absorb the water & the paint. And also, create a nice flat wash of paint

Coloring light to dark

Watercolor is a transparent color, so it tints from light to dark which is better for adding layers and working in detail

Less water

It helps to protect your painting from color bleeding & gives you a nice smooth wash

Light Pencil

While coloring, especially with watercolor, use a light pencil to outline because the color is transparent so light pencil marks will not be visible from the top of the painting and give a realistic look to it

Masking tape

When you use masking tape, it will give your drawing a clean border as well as makes your painting more alluring
